Guest Speaker Jonathan Wild, Chief Executive of Bettys & Taylors Group
Jonathan Wild is the third generation Chief Executive of his family’s business
in Yorkshire, Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, which employs 1,190 staff in
the region and has an annual turnover of £100 million.
“Bettys” tea shops and “Yorkshire Tea” are its most famous names.
The family and the company have endeavoured to turn a dream of long-term business
sustainability into practical strategies for every corner of the business.
Its innovative work has received public recognition in the form of one of the
first Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, the JPMorgan
Family Business Honours Award for Social Responsibility, and Business in the Community’s
top award for Cause Related Marketing. The company won its second Queen’s Award
for Enterprise for Sustainable Development in 2007, one of only eight awarded
that year.
