Tony Dodds

Housing Delivery Vehicle Implementation Lead, Middlesbrough Council

Tony is a Chartered Town Planner who has been working within the UK Real Estate and property development industry for almost 30 years. He began his career in minerals extraction and contaminated land reclamation, before moving on to residential and commercial development.

He was a land manager for Barratt and established and ran the housebuilding arm of Grainger plc. He has run his own development and property management companies as well as serving as a property fund manager.

More recently he enjoyed assisting various public and private sector clients in their property activities. This has involved him providing a variety of services such as setting up new trading companies, formulating business plans and acting as a development, project and business manager.

 

Kevin Parkes 

Executive Director For Growth and Place, Middlesbrough Council

Previously with: Hartlepool Borough Council; Wear Valley District Council and Durham County Council.

Having joined Middlesbrough Council in 2003 Kevin has a broad and varied service responsibilities. His current portfolio encompasses: economic development: transport; planning; housing; communities; culture; libraries; environment; street scene; commercial services; town centre; marketing; property management; and, regeneration.

Middlesbrough is an exciting place to be. With ambitious investment plans, under-pinned by £74m of Council Investment. The town has been named by the FT as one of the Top 10 small cities in Europe with growth potential. Major new developments are underway for Grade A offices at Centre Square and the TeesAdvanced Manufacturing Park.

There is unprecedented levels of house building.  Middlehaven is adding to this with its exciting vision, particularly with the commencement with the regions first snow centre within the next 12 months. The University campus has been rapidly evolving through a collaborative approach with the Council and has a number of stunning new buildings.

Kevin has been a member of the Digital City Board for over 5 years and has extensive experience as an none Executive Director on both housing association and leisure company Boards.

Mark Barlow

Design Leader / Architect

Mark is a multi award winning architect, urban designer and co-founder of Logic architecture.  A graduate of Newcastle University, Mark studied engineering before changing to architecture which explains his unique, pragmatic and commercially aware design approach which led to the formation of Logic architecture based in 2016.

Based in the heat of the Boho zone in Middlesbrough, Logic works across a diverse range of sectors with projects located predominantly in the North East.  The Logic brand conveys a unique design ethos which seeks to produce design solutions that help clients achieve the very best Return On Investment possible adding value to every commission whether it be financial, social or aesthetic.

Logic are involved in a  number of Tees Valley regeneration projects including the Tees Advanced Manufacturing Park and the master-planning of the Boho Next Generation campus which will provide expansion opportunities for existing Boho tenants and identify further development plots for similar digital companies looking to relocate to the digital cluster.
