Our Leeds Meet and Mingle event last Wednesday was a huge hit, with over 100 people gracing the mezzanine at Restaurant Bar + Grill.
Last week was Leeds Business Week, and the Met Club got involved the best way we know how – by running one of our classic Meet and Mingle events. These events are often considerably more intimate than last week’s, with turnout around the ten to thirty mark. But this week’s event far surpassed expectations, with around 140 people booked onto the event.
Upon arrival, each guest received a voucher for a free drink, and was welcomed into the bustling throng of local (and less local) business-people. Some attendees had travelled from as far away as London and Surrey to attend Leeds Business Week.
Steve Potiphar from Impact on Performance said there was “areally good variety of business people to meet and mingle with and the venue had a great atmosphere”.
The networking officially ended at 7:30pm, but a lot of people continued chatting in the downstairs bar for several more hours. “I loved it so much, I didn’t get home until midnight!” said Simon Monaghan from Business Doctors Leeds and North Yorkshire.
Our sponsor, Social Quirk, was thrilled with the turnout. “It was without a doubt the best networking event I’ve been to,” said company owner Becky Ladley.
“The room was packed full of a huge variety of businesses, and I had so many fantastic conversations with both people I already knew and people I hadn’t met before. Julie and Lorraine did an amazing job of promoting me to people when they arrived, meaning that many of the people I spoke to had already heard of Social Quirk and were interested in hearing more about what we do.”
“Would 100% encourage any business looking to raise their profile across Yorkshire to sponsor a Met Club event.”
Most of our events have sponsorship opportunities, and though many of our upcoming events are sponsored, there are a few that are still available, such as our Craven District Property & Construction Lunch, our Leeds Christmas Super Lunch and our Sheffield Transport for the North event.
